Appearance
Office Tools (Desktop)
What it is: A set of utilities within a Draftworx Desktop client file that allows you to import external files (documents, PDFs, images, videos, spreadsheets, Word documents) and create new spreadsheets or word-processor documents directly inside the client file.
What it's for
Engagements often need supporting files alongside the AFS — a signed representation letter, a scan of source documents, a management report in Excel, or a custom word-processing document. Office Tools is the hub for bringing all of these into the client file so that everything relevant to an engagement is stored in one place.
How to do it
Import a file (document, image, or media)
- Select Import File in Office Tools.
- Browse to the file on your computer and click Open.
- Choose the location within the client file to save the imported document.
- Click Import File to confirm.
View an image, video, or PDF already imported
- Select Image Viewer for images, Media Viewer for MP4 video files, or PDF Viewer for PDFs.
- Browse to the file and select Open to display it within the client file viewer.
Create or import a spreadsheet or word document
- Select Spreadsheet (for spreadsheet content) or Word Processor (for text documents).
- Choose New to import an existing file from your computer, or Existing to open a blank document and create from scratch.
- Save the document; it will be accessible under the location it was saved within the client file.
Drag-and-drop via Document Receiver
- Select Document Receiver.
- Drag files from Windows Explorer and drop them into the designated drop zone.
- Saved documents are accessible from the location they were dropped into.
Tip: PDFs imported via Office Tools can then be positioned within the AFS (prepend, append, or replace) using the Inserts option on the Preview Settings pane.
