Adding Additional Links (Cloud) ​

What it is: The ability to expand the number of available link slots for a particular balance sheet or income statement category when the default template does not have enough for a client's chart of accounts.

What it's for ​

Draftworx templates include a standard number of link numbers for each category (e.g. five bank account links by default). If a client has more accounts of a particular type than the template provides, some accounts will have nowhere to link to. Adding additional links creates new link numbers and corresponding rows in the relevant note or statement, resolving the shortfall without requiring manual workarounds.

How to do it ​

Via Template Tools (from the Financial Statements or Working Trial Balance) ​

  1. On the Working Trial Balance (or from within the Financial Statements), click Template Tools.
  2. Select Add Links.
  3. In the orange filter bar, search for the type of link you need more of (e.g. "bank accounts").
  4. From the results, select the option that matches your requirement (e.g. "Increase bank accounts from 5 to 25").
  5. Click Apply, read the warning, and confirm with OK.
  6. Draftworx creates a backup of the file before applying the change. The backup appears under Financial Data as [DU Backup] AFS+ Financials and is marked read-only. It can be used to undo the change if needed.
  7. The additional links are now available on the Working Trial Balance and in the relevant notes and statements.

Via the Working Trial Balance directly ​

  1. On the Working Trial Balance, click Add Links.
  2. Filter for the link type, select the required option, click Apply, and confirm.

Adding links modifies the template structure and cannot be undone without restoring from the backup. Review the warning before confirming.
