Appearance
Two-Factor Authentication (Cloud)
What it is: An optional security feature that requires users to verify their identity with a one-time code from an authenticator app in addition to their password when logging in to Draftworx Cloud.
What it's for
Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your practice from unauthorised access. Even if a password is compromised, no one can log in without the code from the registered authenticator app. Individuals can enable or disable 2FA on their own account, and practice administrators can make 2FA mandatory for everyone in the practice.
How to do it
Enabling 2FA on your own account
- From the Client List, select your Initials next to your Practice Details.
- Select Profile.
- In Manage Profile, select Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Install an authenticator app on your phone (such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator) if you haven't already, then select Next.
- Open the authenticator app and either scan the QR Code or enter the code shown on screen. Enter the resulting 6-digit code and select Verify and Next.
- Save the backup codes that are displayed — these allow access if you ever lose your phone. They will not be emailed to you.
- Select Verify and Enable. You will return to the Client List.
- On your next login you will be prompted for your authenticator code. Tick Don't ask again on this computer to mark a trusted device.
Disabling 2FA on your own account
- From the Client List, select your Initials next to your Practice Details.
- Select Profile.
- Select Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Select Disable 2FA to confirm. Note: if you wish to use 2FA again you will need to go through the full enable process.
Enforcing 2FA for the whole practice (administrators only)
- From the Client List, select the Gear Icon.
- Select Practice Settings.
- Select Two Factor Authentication (2FA), then select Requires 2FA.
- Select Yes to confirm. All users in the practice will receive an Unauthorised notification on their next login and will be prompted to enable 2FA before they can access any client files.
