Appearance
Floating a Tab to a Second Screen (Desktop)
What it is: A feature that lets you detach any tab from the main Draftworx Desktop window and move it to a second monitor, allowing two sections of a client file to be viewed simultaneously.
What it's for
When working with large or complex sets of financial statements, it is often useful to keep the trial balance visible on one screen while editing notes or disclosures on another. Floating a tab to a second screen gives you that dual-view without needing to open the file twice.
How to do it
Float a tab to another screen
- Right-click on the tab you want to move and select Float to new window.
- Drag the floating window to your second monitor and position it as needed.
- Note: while the tab is floated, it will no longer appear in the tab bar of the original client file window.
Bring a floated tab back
- Right-click the tab in the floating window.
- Select Dock and choose the relevant client file.
- The tab returns to its original position in the main client file window.
