Appearance
Archiving Client Files (Desktop)
What it is: A way to move completed or inactive client files out of the active client list into a separate Archived Clients area, and to restore them if needed.
What it's for
When a client engagement is complete or a file is no longer actively used, archiving keeps the main client list uncluttered without permanently deleting the file. Archived files can be restored to Local or Server storage at any time, so no data is lost.
Only Local and Server client files can be archived. WebSync files cannot be archived directly.
Before archiving, ensure the archive folder location has been configured in Settings.
How to do it
Archive a client file
- Navigate to the Main Client List.
- Select the client file to archive.
- Select Actions.
- Select Archive Client.
- Select Yes to confirm.
- The file moves to the Archived Clients section.
Unarchive (restore) a client file
- Navigate to the Main Client List.
- Go to Archived Clients.
- Select the archived client file.
- Select Actions.
- Select Restore to Local or Restore to Server.
- Select Yes to confirm.
- The file reappears in Local or Server Clients.
