Comparing AFS to Prior or Template AFS (Desktop) ​

What it is: A feature that opens the prior year or template Annual Financial Statements side-by-side so you can spot differences from the current year's draft.

What it's for ​

When preparing or reviewing financial statements, it is useful to check whether the structure, disclosures, or figures have changed compared to the previous year or the master template. This comparison helps catch omissions, structural drift, or unintended changes before the AFS is finalised.

How to do it ​

Compare to prior year AFS ​

  1. Navigate to Template Tools on the Annual Financial Statements toolbar.
  2. Select Compare Prior AFS.
  3. The prior tax year's AFS opens in a panel on the right of the screen for side-by-side review.

Compare to template AFS ​

  1. Navigate to Template Tools.
  2. Select Compare Template AFS.
  3. The master template AFS opens on the right for comparison.
