Grouped Clients (Desktop)

What it is: A view option on the Client List that organises client files into collapsible groups based on a chosen column heading, making it easier to navigate large practices.

What it's for

When a firm has many clients, scrolling through a flat list is inefficient. Grouped Clients lets you cluster files by year end, framework, partner, or any other column heading — so you can quickly find and open the right file. The grouping persists across Local, Server, and Websync locations until you turn it off.

How to do it

Enable and change grouping

  1. On the Client List screen, select Grouped Clients. The list groups by Client Name by default.
  2. To group by a different attribute (Year End, Period, Framework, Working Papers, Date of Signature, Date Created), drag the desired column heading to the top of the list (above the header row).
  3. You can combine multiple groupings by dragging more than one heading.

Remove grouping

  1. To undo a grouping, drag the active grouping option back to the grey heading bar.
  2. To return completely to the default flat list, select Grouped Clients again to toggle it off.
